OUR LEADERSHIP

We believe that the Bible teaches that local church fellowships should operate independently and should be lead by a plurality of elders and deacons. We hold to the qualifications laid out in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5 for our elders and deacons and seek to hold them accountable to these Biblical standards at all times as they seek to lead us.

Ian Raisbeck

What's your favourite verse Ian, and why?:

'For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.' (Romans 8:38-39 NKJV)

"I'm reminded of the matchless love that Jesus showed when He bore my sin and shame when He died on the cross in my place. When life is changeable and uncertain it gives me wonderful peace and assurance and that there is nothing that can break this loving relationship that I now enjoy in Him."

Can you tell us a little about yourself John?

"I am a Guildfordian, who became a Christian when I was seven years old, and at the age of fourteen I asked to be baptised at MREC. The verse I was given on the day of my baptism has motivated me throughout my life as a believer in and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and I commend it to you. It is found in the book of Acts chapter 2 verse 42 and says of the early church: 'And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.'"
