OUR LEADERSHIP
We believe that the Bible teaches that local church fellowships should operate independently and should be lead by a plurality of elders and deacons. We hold to the qualifications laid out in 1 Timothy 3, Titus 1, and 1 Peter 5 for our elders and deacons and seek to hold them accountable to these Biblical standards at all times as they seek to lead us.
Ian Raisbeck
What's your favourite verse Ian, and why?:
'For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.' (Romans 8:38-39 NKJV)
"I'm reminded of the matchless love that Jesus showed when He bore my sin and shame when He died on the cross in my place. When life is changeable and uncertain it gives me wonderful peace and assurance and that there is nothing that can break this loving relationship that I now enjoy in Him."

If you had to pick a favourite verse, what would it be Marc?
"And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
Joshua 24:15 ESV
John Knight
Can you tell us a little about yourself John?
"I am a Guildfordian, who became a Christian when I was seven years old, and at the age of fourteen I asked to be baptised at MREC. The verse I was given on the day of my baptism has motivated me throughout my life as a believer in and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and I commend it to you. It is found in the book of Acts chapter 2 verse 42 and says of the early church: 'And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.'"

What's your favourite verse Zac, and why?:
'For He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified all have one source. That is why He is not ashamed to call them brothers' (Hebrews 2:11 ESV)
"I'm reminded of the wonder that The Lord Jesus Christ would invite us to partake in the relationship He has enjoyed for all eternity with the Heavenly Father: His Father, and now our Father. I am amazed that He would not be ashamed to call us brothers and sisters, despite our sinful past. We can eternal life, knowing God intimately as His children, all because of the finished, sanctifying work of the Lord Jesus."
